Dr. Alberto Villoldo seems to be one of the most important Shamans of the western world during the past decades. It is his great acknowledgement to have connected the wisdom and knowledge of the Shamans of the Amazon, which is thousands of years old, with modern neuroscience. In both fields he pushed forward exceptional pioneer achievments. In this interview he is talking about how we all can grow a new brain within 20 days; the number 4 in sacred geometry and possibilities to go through this time of change healthy and happy. Furthermore: anyone of us can contribute to the new, enlightened human species – the „Homo Luminus“ – to evolve.
His new book „Grow a new brain“ was published in December 2024 in English language.
As neuroscientist Dr. #AlbertoVilloldo was the youngest professor at San Francisco State University. This was in 1974 and he was 25 years of age. He had founded an Institute for Biological Self-Regulation and studied the effect of energetic healing methods on blood and brain chemistry. But at the end oft he 1970s, he quit his scientific career and lived with the shamans of the Andes and the Amazon in Peru for around 25 years. Long-term teachers were Inka Don Antonio Morales, Don Manuel Quispe, the medicine woman Dona Laura and Don Eduardo Calderon. After returning to the US, he founded the „Four Winds Society“ and wrote several books, i. e. with the award-winning Hollywood author Erik Jendresen which became international bestsellers.
Our presenter Katrin Seibold was diving into Villoldos books during her time at university. „The Secret Knowledge of the Shamans“ influenced her spiritual journey in the mid 1990s. „Soulretrieval“ inspired the period in her life when she studied and practised family constellation. As a mother, around 10 years ago, she tried the practises of „Power up your brain“.
